Important: What employees can see about each other?

We’ve added more granular controls over what employees can see about each other in Zelt.

Previously, employee profiles had an “assumed” public view, similar to a business card, which included information such as role, reporting lines, start date, work email, office location, and department.

With this update, each of these profile sections now has its own read permission. This allows companies to decide exactly which information is visible and tailor access based on their internal policies.

To prevent any unwanted details from being shown by default, we’ve taken a more restrictive approach and removed read access to:

  • Contract information (Entity information)

  • Role details (Job title and reporting lines)

  • Lifecycle events (Start date and end date)

  • Personal data (Date of birth and other details)

You can customise this at any time via Permission Group for Other Profiles. If you’d like employees to see any of this information about each other, simply enable the relevant read scopes.

If you need any help or guidance, our support team is always available to assist.

Attendance & Scheduling

Schedule Visibility Controls You can now grant team members view-only access to schedules without edit permissions. This is particularly valuable for operational leaders who need visibility into rotas for planning purposes but should not modify shift assignments. Users with read-only access can inspect shift details and export schedules whilst all editing capabilities remain restricted to attendance administrators.

Improved Timesheet Navigation Employees can now preview their upcoming schedule directly within the Timesheets view, eliminating the need to navigate back to the Dashboard to check their rota. This streamlines the timesheet submission process by providing immediate schedule context when reviewing hours worked.

Partner API Attendance Import Organisations using external workforce management systems can now programmatically submit attendance entries through the Partner API. This enables automated synchronisation of time tracking data from third-party platforms (for example a Clock-in Terminal), reducing manual data entry and improving payroll accuracy. You can read more about this functionality in Zelt's API Documentation.

Enhanced Number Formatting in Rota Targets Schedule targets now display with a thousands separators and decimal precision, making large hour totals easier to read at a glance.

Abandoned Shifts Employees who forgot to clock out will automatically receive and email and a mobile push-notification. The setting for clock-out window can be defined in Attendance Schedule settings, under Tracking. Read more about automatic clock-out here.

Performance Reviews

Anonymous Feedback Controls When peer feedback is set to "Author Hidden", managers and administrators can now temporarily reveal the author's identity when needed for context, whilst the system automatically returns to concealed presentation upon page reload. This preserves confidentiality during employee-present reviews whilst providing necessary administrative context. Anonymous feedback now includes a visual indicator for consistency, and terminology has been simplified throughout the interface for clarity. Read more about this functionality here.
