What's new in Zelt - December 2025

This update streamlines admin workflows with Auto Clock-Out logic and Dynamic Targets for automated permissions. You also gain the flexibility to edit live ATS application forms without losing historical data.

Updated this week

Highlights

Settings: Dynamic permission groups
Permission groups can now use dynamic rules (for example, by Department) for selecting targets. This means access is automatically updated when someone moves team or department, with no manual intervention. Read more…

ATS: Edit job application forms on live jobs

Admins can now edit application form fields on published jobs without losing historical data. This means you can improve or update forms mid-campaign while keeping past responses intact. Read more…

Scheduling: Auto clock-out for long shifts

You can now enable an auto-clock out setting that runs hourly and automatically clocks users out who have exceeded a defined shift limit (start time + limit). This helps to prevent never-ending shifts when someone forgets to clock out. Read more…

Scheduling: Workforce targets
Set clear targets (e.g. total hours, headcount, wage budget) right in the rota. This makes it easier for managers to plan shifts against staffing and cost targets in real time. Read more…

Mobile Apps

New Timesheets app on iOS

Employees who track time can now use a dedicated Timesheets app on iOS. They can clock in, clock out and review their hours directly from the app menu, making it much easier to stay on top of attendance on the go. Read more…

Android home screen wallpaper
You can now add wallpaper support to Android homepage for a cleaner, more personalised look when employees open Zelt on mobile

Rota widgets on Android
New Rota Widgets show todays schedule and let users clock in directly from their Android home screen, no need to open the web app before starting a shift.

Mobile UI Polish

We've made a few smaller tweaks that add up to a smoother experience:

  • Long names in Android bottom sheets are shortened so they don't break the layout

  • Checkmarks are hidden while you tap options in multi-select fields, keeping the view clear

  • Android bottom sheets now sit behind the system navigation bar for a more immersive feel

Performance & Reviews

Sentiment colours for custom scales

Custom scales now automatically use colours for each option (eg. Negative, neutral, positive), making it easier to scan and spot trends.

Dynamic due dates for reviews

Review due dates are calculated from the invite date, not just the cycle start date. That means late joiners still get a full window to complete their review from the moment they're invited.

Tider, more consistent rating scales

  • Custom scale labels now have a 35-character limit, so options stay concise and readable

  • Buttons in custom scales align vertically, even if one label is longer, keeping layouts neat.

ATS (Applicant Tracking System)

One-click candidate onboarding

From a candidate’s profile, you can now choose “Onboard” to kick-off their move into employment. Zelt will pre-fill key employment fields, saving you time and reducing manual data entry.

Safer career site fields

We've added validation to stop harmful links (such as scripts) being saved in career website fields, helping keep your careers pages more secure.

Time, Attendance & Scheduling

Faster rota performance
We’ve improved schedule tables behind the scenes, so large rotas load faster and feel smoother to scroll and work with.

Better visual alignment in schedules
“Away time” and “attendances” now render in sync, reducing visual lag and making the rota timeline easier to read.

Payroll

PBIK Safeguards

To prevent accidental data loss, PBIK benefits that have already been used in a payrun can no longer be deleted. This protects your payroll history and reporting

Platform & Infrastructure

Cleaner views for terminated users

Terminated users are now automatically filtered out of places you don't need to see them, so day-to-day views and reports stay focused on active employees. Terminated users will also appear with a grey-scale avatar to make them more recognisable when you're working with a full list of employees.

Dynamic permission groups
Permission groups can now use dynamic rules (for example, by Department) for selecting targets. This means access is automatically updated when someone moves team or department, with no manual intervention. Read more…

Billing page redesign

The billing page has a new layout. It now shows:

  • Your current plan (trial, monthly, annual)

  • Renewal terms and dates

  • Key billing details at a glance

This makes it clearer to understand your plan status and upcoming changes.

As always, should you have any questions about these updates or need help using them, please contact our Support team via in app chat or support@zelt.app.
