Benefits app refresh
The Benefits app has been updated to support fully customisable benefits, including pensions, wellbeing allowances, and employee loans. Benefits can now be connected directly to payroll or expenses, reducing manual admin. The employee view has been improved to boost engagement and make the experience more intuitive. You can also BYOB (bring your own broker) now! Read more here.
Payrolled benefits can now be managed in Zelt using the PBIK tax code (UK) or any other applicable tax code, ensuring contributions are processed correctly through payroll. Take a look at benefits recipes to learn how to configure PBIK.
Attendance rules
Attendance rules will be visible in the calendar view. This makes it easier for employees and managers to understand when overtime applies or when a long week has been triggered. Rules are shown inline with scheduled hours, reducing ambiguity and increasing transparency.
A new attendance rule has been added based on hourly intervals. This allows overtime to be triggered after a defined number of hours worked, regardless of the shift’s total length. Useful for teams with non-standard or segmented shift structures.
Tasks in Slack
Slack reminders are now available for tasks. When a new to-do is assigned, a notification is sent directly to the user’s Slack workspace. No configuration needed if Slack is already connected. Helps reduce missed tasks and improves visibility.
Tenure-based Memberships
Membership rules can be defined in tenure for Absence policies. Employees can now be automatically transferred between, removed or added to Holiday, Parental or Sick absences based on their employment duration. Note that the lower limit will be inclusive and upper limit will be exclusive. Learn more about membership rules.
Other improvements
UK Pension enrolments can now be explicitly overwritten to adjust the Assessment result in Zelt. For example, if the employee is still 21 but at the deferral date will be of eligible age, you can overwrite the Assessment result to be correct for the future enrolment date.
ID checks can be marked as reviewed now, allowing you to acknowledge the result if any check comes back with "Action required" from Zinc.
Payslip format is now updated to provide clarity to employees and break down income by rate and units, especially useful for joiners, leavers and hourly workers.
